background / biography
Ten years of age and listening to bands like Slayer and ac/dc whilst also liking sixties pop and beat music with a slight fondness for James Brown and Motown, not to mention a love of Buddy Holly and Elvis - the young master Price was seriously mixed up as to what was 'his' music taste. It was also not much fun living in Anfield, Liverpool and not having a skinhead or lacoste tracksuit with which 'to fit in' but such is life. Then, one sunny afternoon whist watching MTV, smells like teen spirit' was aired and a light went on. THIS is my music and this IS what I want to do. Even at the tender age of eleven it can be clear what you are supposed to do with your life - within months a band was put together in school with fellow music student, David Masson and their young lives from now on consisted of school (practice in the music room) or practice in each others houses - learning obscure cover versions, writing their own material and listening to Mudhoney, Nirvana, Fudgetunnel and everything else this new avenue had opened up. The beauty of Nirvana was that they played simple, meaningful songs in a world that seemed transfixed with big hair, spandex and plankwanking' - they abolished all of that in one fell swoop and made the young messrs Price and Masson realise that music CAN change the world - right up to the present day, Christopher Price still believes that, creativity should be about changing the world - if music or art stops getting people to question the world around them, then it is dead.' The Most Terrifying Thing' now came to being and have never received a bad reaction in any of the many shows up and down the country they have played in the last year and a half. Indeed, they have just signed to London Label Seeca on the strength of their live performances. Hard to pigeon hole, their music is not restricted to one genre - it can be new wave punk one minute and delicate the next. The best way is to find out for yourselves. Listen to their album which was released in january 2006 or check them out live. It's hard not to like four people playing honest music for music's sake. The Most Terrifying Thing will be unleashed in 2008 for one more go at Changing the world'.
